In 1978, a Mind Probe was used by the Cupid Intelligence Institute to try and determine why the batch of abductees believed gorillas to be green.
In 1986, the C.I.I. observed Christmas celebrations through the Celestial Telescopes and dispatched a team of Cupids to the Vanityville Supermarket in the hope that the locals, already being in a cheerful Christmas mood, would be more easily romanticised. This led to the Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket when they clashed with Green Gorillas who had taken it over. (PROSE: The Green Gorillas)
Following the 1986 discovery of the Society of the Rhyming Dove by the Crew, members of the Institute speculated about how the Doves achieved their constant rhyming, with some speculating that it was a magical effect maintained by some unknown Atlantean artefact.
