Department of Alchemy

The Department of Alchemy was one of the Departments of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids's Intelligence Institute.

After he lost the formula for the Love Potion, #257, who had been the Prefect of the Department of Chemistry, was transferred to the Department of Alchemy. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids) Taking to alchemy, he took the name of Mandragora-257 and became disdainful of mere scientists. However, he disgraced again when one of his experiments went wrong, blowing up a warehouse and several Cupids with it. This led to his expulsion from the Department and exile to Morningstar 1. As early as 2019, Pythagoras-858 was disinclined to often give much credit to the Department of Alchemy. However, when, after the Department of Problem-Solving's first encounter with Lord Thymon, they analysed a hairball he'd spit out upon being imprisoned by them, and declared that it was “the physical embodiment of a particularly hairy situation”, Pythe admitted that “that sounded about right”.
