Worldbuilding
Universes
- The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids meet the Gang of the Green Gorilla on the Prime Earth in 1978 “Prime Earth Time”.
Other
- A Mind Probe was used by the Cupid Intelligence Institute to try and determine why the batch of abductees believed gorillas to be green.
- In 1986, the C.I.I. observed Christmas celebrations through the Celestial Telescopes and dispatched a team of Cupids to the Vanityville Supermarket in the hope that the locals, already being in a cheerful Christmas mood, would be more easily romanticised. This led to the Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket when they clashed with Green Gorillas who had taken it over.
- It is rumoured that Commander Amadeo-378's “quick wits” came from “a quirk of the foundries that had made the soul of his processing unit a five-point diamond, instead of the standard-cut rose quartz”.
- The brainwashing techniques used by the Gang of the Green Gorilla and the Cupids' Cupid Arrow-based romanticisation process are incompatible: people already affected by the former are immune to the latter, and although the reverse is not strictly true, the Gang's scientists were able to find ways to reverse Cupid conditioning.
- The Fact File notes that following the Skirmish, the Cupids have “fended off the Green Gorillas’ advance from the depths of the Amazonian jungle to the very North Pole”.
- Amour-159 is a Collector Cupid for the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids' Tax Department.
Continuity
- The Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket was later referenced in PROSE: New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld.
- Amadeo-378, introduced here, made another appearance in PROSE: The Drove of the Demesmaekerite-Dyed Discordias.
- The Cupids' gemstone hearts would be referenced a number of other times, starting in PROSE: The Toymaker's Labyrinth, PROSE: Magic Trick, and PROSE: A Copper-Colored Christmas Carol.
