New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld (short story)
New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld was a Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids short story written by Lupan Evezan and illustrated by Aristide Twain. It was the first to take the form of a facsimile of an issue of the Cupid Courier.

Plot
Issue 1020 of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids' newspaper, The Cupid Courier, has as its headline feature an interview with Foreman-964 about the Department of Construction's latest pointless warehouse-building endeavour, complete with skeptical comments from Philatel-426. Other features on the front page include the announcement of a seminar to be given by Lord Thymon at the headquarters of the Department of Motivational Speaking, entitled “How to Earn a Steady Living by Crushing Universes Beneath Your Proverbial Feet and Casting their Residents Into the Void of Swirling Oblivion”, as well as a prophecy from the notorious “Backwards Prophet” Nostradamus-066, which, as usual, turned out to have been about an event in the past rather than the future (the 1986 Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket). Finally, a feature on Page 2 including breaking new discoveries about the Szaclowk from star Cupid Intelligence Institute researcher Investigation-464 is teased, but, of course, due to the Szaclowk's effects, no such Page 2 is visible.
Worldbuilding
Universes
- This story takes place in the Cupid Homeworld.
- The title of Lord Thymon's seminar mentions the Oblivion.
- A picture of a Szaclowk, presumably taken in the Halfworld, is seen.
Other
- The headline article is credited to Journalist-649. No writing credits are given for the three shorter articles.
- The Courier's tagline credits the Department of Journalism with its creation.
- Nostradamus-066 is the subject of ongoing research by the Department of Cupid Anatomy to determine what enables him to have visions, albeit visions of the past rather than the future.
Continuity
- Philatel-426 mentions how Foreman-964 once tried to have the “stamp wing” of his Cupid Post Office demolished to make room for a new warehouse. This was a plot point in PROSE: Acquaintanceship-982 and the Missing Mail Mystery.
- Nostradamus-066's prediction relates to the Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket, related in PROSE: The Green Gorillas.
- The Szaclowk are still under investigation by the Cupids, as first seen in PROSE: The Szaclowk & the Halfworld.
- The following facsimile Cupid Courier issue, PROSE: Conspiracy-1263 Publicly Accuses the Gang of the Green Gorillas, featured another Nostradamus-066 prophecy.
- Foreman-964's obsession with building warehouses remained a running gag throughout subsequent stories, notably being the reason stated in PROSE: Magic Trick for his official exclusion from the Cupid Parliament in spite of his title of Prefect. The same story also featured Optimist-411 of the Department of Motivational Speaking again, clarifying his status as that Department's Prefect.
