Nostradamus-066

From Jenny Everywhere Wiki

Nostradamus-066 was a Clockwork Cherub and the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids' Prophet.

Description

Physical appearance

A winged Clockwork Cherub, Nostradamus wore a medieval-style robe and cap, and sported a beard. (PROSE: New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld) Though different Marks of Clockwork Cherub, he and Mandragora-257 looked somewhat alike. (PROSE: The Resurrection of the Wellsians)

Personality

Nostradamus was earnest and steadfast in his hope that any one of his latest visions might concern the future instead of the past, despite these hopes being proven wrong time after time. However, he accepted defeat gracefully every time he was proven wrong. (PROSE: New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld)

Powers & abilities

Nostradamus was known for only ever having visions of things which had actually already occurred, which limited his usefulness as a seer, although it was not quite unprecedented for the visions to describe past events of actual significance and which had not previously been known to the Crew. Biography

His visions, no matter how obtuse, were usually reported upon in The Cupid Courier. (PROSE: New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld, Rifts Crisis Officially Over!) In Issue #1020, his prophecy turned out to be about the 1986 Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket. Nostradamus was very disappointed to realise this one still wasn't a forward-seeing vision. (PROSE: New Warehouse To Be Constructed In The Homeworld) In Issue #1034, his prophecy about “the Great Bird” creating “life anew from the metal of Cyprus” soon revealed itself to be a vision of the creation of the Cupids themselves, to his embarrassment, but he once again declared that he would “surely have a proper foretelling type of vision someday”. On Halloween 2019, Nostradamus attended Colonel-028's annual October gathering of Mark Is, where he “blathered on” about his latest vision to Technician-042, who listened despite his broad lack of interest. When the Spirit Realm Gateway malfunctioned, Frankenstein-818 asked for someone to get Technician, but Nostradamus reported that he was “indisposed”. After the crisis subsequently caused by the appearance of the Great Ghost's legion was resolved, they all returned to the Homeworld, where Colonel-028's party was ultimately a great success. Issue #1136 of the Courier reported that he had, lately, been troubled by visions that none actually managed to interpret, which involved “television static, the sense of not knowing whether some vague event happened or whether it could only have happened, and the feeling of missing an old friend”.
