Optimist-411 was a Clockwork Cherub and the Prefect (PROSE: Magic Trick) of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids' Department of Motivational Speaking.

When a seminar by Lord Thymon at the headquarters of the Department was announced in The Cupid Courier, Optimist was asked to comment, and expressed cautious optimism for the speech, despite its somewhat worrying title (How to Earn a Steady Living by Crushing Universes Beneath Your Proverbial Feet and Casting their Residents Into the Void of Swirling Oblivion). Being a Prefect, he had the right to attend Cupid Parliament sections. He was present for the ninth day of debate about Stenographer-123's typewriter, on the day of the faceless magician incident. When the argument started to devolve into a fistfight, he tried to calm everything down, only to be shouted down by Foreman-964, who berated him for sometimes being “worse than Pessimist”. However, the fight was soon broken up anyway by the much-less-easily-ignored onslaught of magic rabbits. (PROSE: Magic Trick)
