Department of Festivities

The Department of Festivities was a department of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids dealing with holiday matters. Celebration-665 was its Prefect. (PROSE: The Case Against Conspiracy)

History

At some point, Lord Thymon discussed the origins of Halloween with the Department of Festivities. He claimed he had once “[thrown] an enormous fright-themed party on the very concept of October 31, thus spreading said party, in various incarnations, across every occurrence of this date in the Multiversal timeline”. This was allegedly the reason why an inordinately high percentage of worlds had versions of Halloween. However, other dimensional scholars in the Multiverse who had noticed the phenomenon had other purported explanations.

On Halloween 2019, as usual, Celebration-665 and his Department did their best to coordinate the decorating of the Cupid Homeworld. Celebration made a few additional, “more extravagant” suggestions which were overruled by the Cupid Parliament, much to his annoyance; these notably included “creating a new line of sapient Cupids with the sole objective of staffing a walk-through haunted house”.
