The figure of “Red Riding Hood” existed in a number of realities. Although the circumstances, undertones and outcome of it would vary, most versions fell at some point in their lives to the pattern of taking some trip to see a “Grandmother” figure, only to encounter the Big Bad Wolf.

Description

Physical appearance

Red Riding Hood usually derived her nickname from often wearing a red, hooded cape while travelling. Beyond that, her appearance varied across her incarnations. The one native to Reality Z-25 31-H was an attracive adult woman with short blond hair. She was lithe, but still fairly athletic. (COMIC: Red Riding Hood)

Biography

In Reality Z-25 31-H

Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf wrestle for Grandmother's documents. (COMIC: Red Riding Hood)

Reality Z-25 31-H's incarnation of Red Riding Hood was a superspy active in 21st-century America. Her superior went by the codename “Grandmother”, and she had an acquaintance called Hunter. While transporting some secrt documents to Grandmother, Red Riding Hood was stopped by the Big Bad Wolf, a secret agent of a rival organisation, who had the ability to turn into a super-strong wolf-man. The two began to fight, and turned out to be more or less evenly-matched. Partway through the match they realised that they actually fancied each other and would rather betray their sides and pair up than continue fighting. After sleeping together for the first time, they agreed to work together to take down Grandmother, possibly with the help of Hunter. (COMIC: Red Riding Hood)

Becoming a pair of superheroes, the Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood gained the trust of Captain Evening. They were among the heroes who could be summoned to the Fortress of Evening by the “Omega Protocol” on the Captain's computer. However, when the Protocol was activated by Professor Madison to recruit a team of heroes with whom to field an assault on the headquarters of the Bureau of Singularity, the Wolf and Red declined, deeming the mission foolhardy. (COMIC: Singularity War) The Wolf and Red Riding Hood were among the heroes Captain Evening invited to a big party at the Fortress of Evening. (COMIC: Meanwhile, On Earth)

They did, however, respond to Robot Madison's call when she gathered all the superheroes she could to defend New York City from the alien robot known as the Cosmic Solution. They were part of the initial charge against the robot, though this charge proved counter-productive when the heroes realised the Solution grew in size with every impact it absorbed. In the end, the robot left Earth of its own accord when it was called off by another agent of the Cosmic Order. (COMIC: Journey Out Of Misery) She had been injured, later being seen with her left leg in a cast, though she was still able to quickly return to New York after a brief vacation, in order to help Professor Madison (alongside the Big Bad Wolf and many other superheroes) with the work of repairing the damage dealt to the city by the super-battle. They then decided to make a romantic getaway to Acapulco, travelling in disguise in an effort to evade the spy organisation on which they'd gone rogue. The Wolf was convinced that the disguises he'd put together would be good enough, but, to his embarrassment, while waiting in line at the airport they were accosted by a messenger of Grandmother, who transmitted a message directly from Grandmother, explaining that their overseers knew full well where the Wolf and Red Riding Hood had gone, but that, in recognition of their good work rebuilding the city with Madison, they'd leave the two alone so long as they refrained from engaging in illegal activities. Despite this humbling interlude, they did make it to their hotel in Acapulco, and began their holiday on a high note when the Wolf confirmed to Red Riding Hood that he'd taken her advice and started using breath mints.
