“The Terrific Two” was the nickname Jenkins gave to the team comprising himself and Kelly, as part of his fantasy of the two of them using the superpowers accidentally granted to them by the Vanilla Puddings of Riegel 6 in 2010 to be superheroes. Although Kelly, hardly a philanthropist, had no clear interest in being a hero, she reluctantly acted as part of “the Terrific Two” on a handful of missions after her friend Professor Madison was taken in by the idea and created matching indestructible outfits for the two. However, the resentment between the ill-matched ‘Two’ grew until Kelly snapped and killed Jenkins with her powers. Although she was persuaded by Madison to “get back with him” (Kelly not having told her about the killing itself) so that they could help defend the city from the Cosmic Solution, which she achieved by going down to Hell and making a deal with the Devil for Jenkins's resurrection, they officially decided to stop hanging out, at the cost of their powers, as soon as the Solution was dealt with. Behind the scenes
The name of “the Terrific Two” is reminiscent of the notorious Marvel superhero team “the Fantastic Four”. It is implied that Jenkins is himself a comic-book fan and the allusion is deliberate in-universe.
