In Reality Z-25 31-H, Karen Karter, or Glow Girl, was a minor superhero until she retired from the crime-fighting business and pursued a career as an adult film star, becoming a small sensation as the first superpowered individual in the industry (which fame she hoped to leverage to better public opinion of the profession). She consequently declined Captain Evening's offer to join the Odds, but was on friendly terms with the Captain and agreed to lend a hand if her fairly specific powers somehow became needed on one of his adventures.
Description
Physical appearance
Glow Girl was an attractive woman with light, frizzy hair. Her superhero outfit included a cape with a large, star-shaped clasp on her breast, worn over a long-sleeved, form-fitting T-shirt, as well as boots, gloves, and a short skirt. (COMIC: Glow Girl!)
Personality
Glow Girl had a fittingly radiant, even effusive demeanour; she saw a moral, or at least social, purpose in her career change, hoping to serve as a symbol to lower the stigma associated with sex work. She also described herself as “kind of a pacifist”. (COMIC: Glow Girl!)
Powers & abilities
Although she displayed some skill at physical fighting, Glow Girl told Captain Evening that her only actual superpower was to glow whatever colour she chose. (COMIC: Glow Girl!)
Biography
Early life
At some point, Glow Girl had a career as an actual superhero, from which she gained some amount of fame. (COMIC: Glow Girl!)
A new career
Not too long before the formation of the Odds, Glow Girl decided to retire from superheroics and become an adult film star. Captain Evening visited a set where she was shooting a film where she played her own superhero persona first fighting, then sleeping with, the villainous Tin Raider. He suggested that she join the Odds, but she declined, being happy with her quieter life as it was, though she pledged to help if her glow-based powers somehow managed to become essential to some world-saving endeavour. (COMIC: Glow Girl!) Glow Girl was among the heroes Captain Evening invited to a big party at the Fortress of Evening, being seen relaxing on a deckchair, sunbathing. (COMIC: Meanwhile, On Earth)
Indeed, this occurred fairly soon after when she saw live TV reports about the Cosmic Solution robot's attack on the City. Leaving her film shoot, she hurried to the scene of the action, where she found the Odds and a number of other heroes already present. At the Captain's suggestion, “glowing like she'd never glowed before”, she managed to distract the robot long enough for the Captain to hook it up to Hank Richards's power-draining apparatus. However, all of this proved useless when the Protectors accidentally reversed all the effects of the Odds' good work, and the Earth was ultimately saved when another agent of the Cosmic Order called off the Solution and the two of them left of their own free will. (COMIC: Journey Out Of Misery) After a brief vacation, she returned to New York in order to help Professor Madison (alongside many other superheroes) with the work of repairing the damage dealt to the city by the super-battle. (COMIC: Epilogue to Destruction)
