The Nymph Sprite standing next to the Elf Erman in one universe. (COMIC: Enchanted)

Nymphs were a species or class of female, supernatural humanoids.

In one fantasy world, Nymphs existed among many other magical humanoids living in harmony in a city and surrounding kingdom in a forest. One of them was called Sprite. She was a talented spell-caster, one of a few whom the fairy Jai-Jai acknowledged as superior to herself in that respect. Sprite was as tall as a human woman, but had green skin, purple hair, and big, pointy, horizontal ears similar to a fairy's. (COMIC: Enchanted)

According to a potentially-apocryphal Greek myth from the Prime Earth, there existed a nymph called Ἀκάνθα. (PROSE: Century Smith and the Time Terror)

The eldritch, interdimensionally-active Santa Claus with whom the Great Higher-Ups of the 925th Universe had an alliance was known as the “son of nymphs and ruler of elves” among other titles. (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas)

Behind the scenes

Most of Santa Claus's titles in A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas are loose references to L. Frank Baum's Life and Times of Santa Claus, where Santa was found as a baby, adopted and raised by a “Wood Nymph” called Necile. The 2024 reedit of the story dubbed him “the Hag-Son of Zurline”; Zurline in the same Baum novel was the Queen of Nymphs, but, although she presided over his adoption by Necile, was not originally his adoptive mother herself.
