Dionysus
A version of the god Dionysus was coaxed out of retirement by the Man in Grey to take a seat on the Interdimensional Pride Council in 2022. His appointment proved ill-advised on the Man in Grey's part as Dionysus reacted negatively to another one of his decisions, namely making a sponsorship deal with the Super Besties Justice Squad which would have meant Stardust would sit on the Council too. A week after this incident blew out, Dionysus attended Jenny Over-There and Dynamite Thor's Pride party at Professor Helvetius's Convenient Pride Decorations Shop. At first he was content to “sit in a corner, observing the merriment”, but before the night's end he ended up dancing with Nyarlathotep. (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events)
Behind the scenes
In the original version of A Series of Queer Events, only up for a short amount of time before this was altered, the deity invited by the Man in Grey onto the Council was Gloon, an eldritch deity from the Cthulhu Mythos, inspired by Dionysus. This was changed when Callum Phillpott was informed that although the character was developed based on hints in a public-domain H. P. Lovecraft story, the name “Gloon” was not itself in the public domain contrary to Phillpott's earlier assumption.
