Wicked Witch of the South

From Jenny Everywhere Wiki

In the universe whose version of the Land of Oz was visited by Acquaintanceship-982, Blinkie was once the Wicked Witch of the South. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids in Oz)

Behind the scenes

L. Frank Baum only mentioned a “Wicked Witch of the South” in passing in his Oz books; because she was referred to as a Wicked Witch and dwelled in a hidden area of the southern Quadling Country, it was theorised by some that Blinkie was in fact the erstwhile Wicked Witch of the South, reduced to lesser means after Glinda deposed her, which is the view taken by The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids in Oz. However, other attempted continuations of Baum's Oz offered various visions of the Wicked Witch of the South as an independent character, to say nothing of works which deliberately set themselves in alternative continuities relative to Baum's original corpus.

At any rate, having first been mentioned in the 1908 novel Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, the name of “the Wicked Witch of the South” (whomever it may refer to) is in the public domain.
