Nyarlathotep, sometimes known as Nyarlathotep the Crawling Chaos, (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?) was a notoriously powerful eldritch abomination.

Biography

In the 925th Universe

See main article: Nyarlathotep (925th Universe)

One version of Nyarlathotep existed in the 925th Universe. He “was not very honest”. When she was fourteen, around 2012, budding occultist Marietta Over-There worshipped Nyarlathotep. He claimed to her that by sacrificing her cousin Jenny's cat Grober in a ritual, she could summon Yog-Sothoth from his slumber, which would end the world. Marietta went through with the deed, driving a decade-long rift between her and Jenny but entirely failing to summon Yog-Sothoth or end the world. Seeing how she had hurt Jenny, Marietta ceased to worship Nyarlathotep and turned herself around to become the heroic occultist Lady Satan. (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas)

On the Interdimensional Pride Council

See main article: Nyarlathotep (A Series of Queer Events)

One version of Nyarlathotep sat on the Interdimensional Pride Council by 2022, with the Man in Grey being excited to be rubbing shoulders with him when he was appointed to the Council by the Great Higher-Ups as their representative. After the upheaval which proceeded from the Man in Grey's dismissal, Professor Wogglebug believed that Nyarlathotep would become head of the Council, although he allowed for the possibility that the Scarecrow would get the appointment instead. A week or so after these events, this same version of Nyarlathotep attended Jenny Over-There and Dynamite Thor's Pride party at Professor Helvetius's Convenient Pride Decorations Shop. He seemed to have developed a crush on fellow Council-member Dionysus, and although he was initially reluctant to act on it, the two ended up dancing together by the night's end. Opposing the Carter kids

See main article: Nyarlathotep (Who Laws the Lawyers?)

In one universe, a version of Nyarlathotep with a variety of physical avatars of different genders identified themself as an Outer God, kin to (but having an antagonistic relationship with) Yog-Sothoth. One of Nyarlathotep's avatars was a young man dressed in an elegant black suit, who bore a strong resemblance to Nicola Tesla if he wore an Egyptian pharaoh's ceremonial false beard. In this persona, he acquired the “fourth Shining Trapezohedron” and travelled to Manhattan where he laid in wait for Dwain and Karolyn Carter, descendants of Randolph Carter who were apparently looking to gather all the Trapezohedra. He phoned the Multidimensional Finders Service for an update on their location, but the Carters also wound up phoning the M.F.S. and learning about Nyarlathotep's possession of the gem. Nyarlathotep later phoned again, now appearing as “a blonde woman wearing a bunny-eared headband and a corset which prominently displayed a black-hole-esque logo with the text ‘The NULL’” on it, strongly suggesting that this manifestation was a Bunny Nullhare. Nyarlathotep then learned that the Carters had taken refuge in Kadath, immediately realising that Yog-Sothoth had a hand in the matter. Declaring, when Jenny wished her a polite “Good luck”, that “We Outer Gods make our own luck,” she hung up, intent on punching Yog-Sothoth. (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?)
