In one universe, in the 21st century, Outer God Nyarlathotep's plans clashed with those of Yog-Sothoth as Nyarlathotep attempted to oppose the quest of his “old friend” Randolph Carter's descendants Dwain and Karolyn for the full set of Shining Trapezohedra. Having been forewarned by Jenny Over-There against a trap Nyarlathotep was setting up for them in New York City, the Carter kids wound up taking refuge in Kadath. (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?)
