The Wyrm of Loki or Snake of Loki was the giant, supernatural, non-sapient snake who was created by the other Norse Gods as the warden of Loki's underground prison. It also dripped acidic venom towards Loki's face to keep him distracted, although Loki's wife Sigyn stayed by his side to catch the venom drip by drip.
In the Prime Universe, by the 21st century, the serpent had dripped so much venom that the containers where Sigyn stored it filled up nearly the entire cavern. She got the idea to clear things out by auctioning off the highly magical venom in exchange for favours that would further improve her and Loki's situations. She tasked Pythagoras-858 and Juliet-178, who were trying to win the venom on behalf of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids, with finding and slaying the Wyrm, in the guise of a quest proving their “worthiness”. The Cupids eventually arrived at the cavern, and, at Loki's own suggestion, helped him cause an earthquake with knocked stalactites loose from the ceiling, as well as the Wyrm itself, and knocked the Wyrm out.
