Behind the scenes
In real-world mythology, the Vanir and Æsir are formerly rival, and later reconciled, “clans” of deities; the Vanir included Frey and Freyja, while Odin was of the Æsir. Loki, Sigyn and Logi are neither, although Loki is related to Odin in an inconsistent fashion.
