Vertolin was a Vormerschuiving born on the planet Subcinctus. A shapeshifter like the rest of his kind, Vertolin favoured the form of a humanoid pangolin.

Biography

After his universe became threatened by Rifts, Vertolin became a founding member of the Consistency Imperium, an organisation which attempted to put an end to the crisis but actually worsened it (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker) due to Vertolin being manipulated by Mandragora-257 (PROSE: Rifts Crisis Officially Over!) and frequently disobeyed by the warmongering Imperial Imperator, even though Vertolin nominally outranked him.

Realising his mistake, Vertolin helped Marksmanship-522, Bibliophile-962, Tracker-764 and the Hound save the Multiverse at the eleventh hour. Surviving the destruction of the Consistency Palatium, Vertolin headed the effort to build a new city from its ashes which could serve as a haven for people who'd lost their homes to the Rifts Crisis. He continued to command great respect among the survivors of theImperium.

Vertolin happily welcomed Jenny Everywhere, Juliet-178 and Arganthone-056 to his office in the new city in December 2020, as friends of the three Clockwork Cherubs who'd helped him turn himself around. However, he was unable to usefully help them with their quest of thawing out Madame Tarsa from her block of magical ice, as what documents of the Imperium's concerning Tarsa had been salvaged from the Palatium's destruction did not tell the Cupids anything which they did not already know.
