In one universe, Nyarlathotep identified herself and Yog-Sothoth as Outer Gods, reflecting that “we Outer Gods made our own luck” when Jenny Over-There politely wished her good luck. (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?)
Behind the scenes
The term “Outer God” did not appear in any of H. P. Lovecraft's foundational, public-domain works, only being retroactively implied to the most cosmically powerful section of his eldritch pantheon as seen in his Nyarlathotep, The Other Gods and The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath. The term was coined in the very-much-copyrighted Call of Cthulthu role-playing game, which is also responsible for identifying Yog-Sothoth as one of those 'Other Gods' alongside Azathoth and Nyarlathotep. Nevertheless, the term has been used by many works unrelated to Call of Cthulthu, and is generally understood as being in the public domain.
