Department of Cinematography

The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids had a Department of Cinematography, who created films for other Cupids' viewing.

They were active in 2019, and screened “a new picture they'd made” — predictably enough, a romance. Getting to see it when it premiered even though she had work assigned that day was the motive for Juliet-178 to create the first of what would become a huge number of duplicates of herself. (PROSE: The Labors of Juliet) Later, after these Sisters of Juliet were banished from the Cupid Homeworld, (PROSE: Of Romeos and Juliets) Juliet later tried to argue the Copper-Colored Council of Elders into reversing this decision on the occasion of the Department releasing another, new film. (PROSE: The Cupid Suggestion Box) The Cupid Courier #1034 included an advertismenet for a new DoC film, Green Gorilla Follies!, starring Barnstormer-1009 and Enactor-769, which was to be screened at the Department of Cinematography Main Theater on the Mainland Cloud. Around Halloween 2019, Méliès-125, Prefect of the Department, was trying to shoot a horror film for the internal consumption of the Crew, The Cupid Who Hated Love. He initially wanted Pessimist-242 for the title role, and, after Pessimist declined, attempted “to make do with a puppet made to look like Pessimist (rather poorly, in the eyes of the visually-inclined). Méliès had insisted that this only added to the horror; the other actors were thus forced to tolerate its presence”. (PROSE: The Ghosts and the Machine)
