Kaza's Mate, Gwenna, occasionally Kaza and Gwenna, is an ongoing webcomic series created by Jay Epps.

The series focuses on the adventures of two titular characters, Gwenna and her husband, Kaza, who are the reimagined versions of two public-domain Golden Age comic “jungle hero” characters. Crossovers eventually established that the comic shared a universe with Paul Hoppe's Cosmic Beholder series. Jenny Everywhere and Jenny Anywhere also had multiple guest appearances each in the comic.

Primary story line

The Serpent Sorceress

The serpent priestess Narlana returns, hoping to revive the snake cult and get revenge upon Kaza.

Ruthless Ro-Man

A meeting with some old friends of Gwenna's gets interrupted by a vengeance seeking alien.

Philosopher's Stone Quest

The first multi-part story of the comic.

Situation on Earth-N, Part Two

Back on Earth-N, more nude superhero battles complicate life in New York City.

All the superheroes at the Fortress of Evening hurry over but discover that the retired minions have already subdued the intruders, who were not the vampire gangsters they appeared to be - just two ordinary gangsters who worked for vampires. This is a short story by Paul Hoppe.

The stories of Situation on Earth-N and Kokotomo crossed over with multiple other series, but without continuing plot effects.

Extra stories

Some of Kaza and Gwenna's adventures are presented outside the main collection. The chronology, and canonicity, of these tales is often unclear.

Kooba Fruit Pies

As well as being a recurring joke within the narrative, there are several single page adventures showing characters defeating opponents with Kooba Fruit Pies. Like Stewardess® Fruit Pies they parody the Hostess Fruit Pie comic advertisments of the 1970s and 1980s.
