Kooba Fruit Pie
Kooba Fruit Pies were an apparently highly delicious snack which existed in Reality Z-25 31-H.
Gwenna was among their enjoyers, and once brought a satchel full of them back from “the trading post” into the Naked Jungle. She ended up using them to lure Taho off her pterosaur steed, which wound up eating them instead. (COMIC: The Fury of the Sky Witch!)
Behind the scenes
The Kooba Fruit Pies are an open-source stand-in for the Hostess Fruit Pies, a brand which was the subject of many narrative ads in popular comic-books in the 1970s and 1980s (a similar joke was made in Jenny Everywhere and the Lord of Hell where they were known as Stewardess® Fruit Pie). The name of “Kooba”, however, is taken from the public-domain “Kooba Cola”, an imaginary soft drink advertised in Fox Features Syndicate comic books as a test-run campaign; the Kooba Cola Corporation would go on to be referenced in other Jenny Everywhere-related works. As the “Kooba” brand is public-domain, Kooba Fruit Pies can reasonably be considered public domain.
