Strach, the Abstract of Terrror, was one of the Abstracts.
Description
Physical appearance
Rae appeared as a woman with “extraordinarily long black hair”. It concealed most of her face, which glowed, in accordance with her essence. She was usually dressed a well-worn, even tattered off-white jumpsuit that was “clearly a size or two too big for her body”. (GAME: The Jenny Everywhere Roleplaying Game)
Personality
Rae was introverted and cautious, though reasonably clever and capable of acting quickly in a crisis. (GAME: The Jenny Everywhere Roleplaying Game)
Powers and abilities
Like the Abstract of Illumination, (COMIC: The Jenny Everywhere Chronicles) Rae, as Abstract of Luminance, had the ability to cut loose her powers in a blinding flash of energy that would incapacitate those around her. (GAME: The Jenny Everywhere Roleplaying Game)
Biography
At some point, Rae began travelling the Multiverse with a a group of friends formed around a version of Jenny Everywhere and which also included Ace, Ellison, Aitar and Krystal. Their “home base” was a vast spaceship of unclear nature and purpose.
At some point, they were forcibly shifted to a mysterious complex where they were pitted against another team led by a different Jenny in a series of trials. After the other group beat them and got to exit back to their home through a portal, they realised they had no choice but to shift in a second team using the machinery present in the complex, and attempt to beat them. After summoning another Jenny's team and making their way through the trials, however, Rae's Jenny decided to speak up once they reached the final room, explaining the situation to the other group as best she understood it. She proposed that they ignore the intended rules and simply decide between themselves which team would get to leave this time around.
With the other team letting them go, the grateful team made their way through the portal and back home, no closer to figuring out who had set up the complex and why. (GAME: The Jenny Everywhere Roleplaying Game)
Behind the scenes
Rae was the third Abstract to be introduced, and the first female one. As an Abstract of Luminance, she seems mildly redundant with Lit, the Abstract of Illumination earlier created by Benj Christensen in The Jenny Everywhere Chronicles; it is probable that Rae was developed more as an alternative to Lit than a fellow Abstract coexisting with him, although the slightly different concepts mean that there is nothing actually precluding the two coexisting.
