Gayelette was a prominent magic user from the Land of Oz.
In the 925th Universe, where the Witches of the North, South and so on were known as “Cardinal Witches”, Gayelette was the Northern Cardinal of Oz towards the end of Monarch Pastoria's reign, and inadvertently inspired the creation of Professor Wogglebug via an offhand comment. Behind the scenes
In the original Oz books, Princess Gayelette is a sorceress from the Northern quadrant of Oz, but not, formally, a “Witch of the North” (Good or Wicked). Within Callum Phillpott's version of Oz, however, the Witches of the North, South, West and South are referred to as Cardinal Witches. As such, the 925th Universe Gayelette being referenced as the “Northern Cardinal” implies that she was indeed considered the Witch of the North at one time in Oz's history.
