Gayelette (925th Universe)

The 925th Universe's version of Gayelette was the Northern Cardinal of Oz towards the end of Monarch Pastoria's reign. Gayelette once advised Doctor Know that he would not find a replacement for his lecturing job at the Royal College of Oz who would match his own standards because “if they were even half as smart as you, then they wouldn’t want to be a teacher. Who would want a job where you have to wake up early in the morning and lecture a bunch of hungover teens?”. Doctor Know took this advice to heart, realising that he needed to create his replacement. Behind the scenes

In the original Oz books, Princess Gayelette is a sorceress from the Northern quadrant of Oz, but not, formally, a “Witch of the North” (Good or Wicked). Within Callum Phillpott's version of Oz, however, the Witches of the North, South, West and South are referred to as Cardinal Witches. As such, Gayelette being referenced as the “Nothern Cardinal” implies that she was indeed considered the Witch of the North at one time in Oz's history.
