In one universe, Laura Drake's grandmother took a part in raising Laura. When the girl was two, she gave her an old-fashioned plush toy, an alligator with a factory error that had given it extra eyes and arms. She also read some Asterix comics to her, teaching the girl the word “grawlix”, which inspired the name Laura gave to the plush alligator: Grallyx. (PROSE: Extradimensional Experiments)
