In one universe, Jenny Everywhere and her friends existed at a point in history where humanity was beginning to expand into the rest of the Solar System, having notably encountered and signed agreements with the Martians. By then, the Altern Corporation controlled most resources and areas of public life on Earth, to the point of the federal government of the United States of America being openly considered a subsidiary of Altern.
