Jareth
The Labyrinth, a mysterious structure in one universe, was ruled by the Goblin King Jareth, an “Unseelie Fae King”.
Jareth had a close kinship to his Labyrinth. A highly magical being, he could teleport, and also change at will from the form of an owl to a handsome man with a gaunt face and a shock of blond hair. When he was excited, his magic would swirl around him in the form of a flurry of sparks, a phenomenon over which he had no control.
One day, while idly watching the human realm through a magical crystal, he felt an unfamiliar presence inside his Labyrinth. Flying down in owl form, he discovered that the uninvited guest was none other than Jenny Everywhere, of whom he'd heard in legends, myths and “odd tales”. When she explained, to his surprise, that she had no other purpose in coming here than seeking a good old-fashioned adventure, he officially granted her thirteen hours of playtime in the Labyrinth, provided that she didn't break anything, and that she understood that having his blessing did not necessarily mean she was safe from the residents. (PROSE: Everywhere's The Thing!)
Behind the scenes
Jareth, as originally played by David Bowie, is a major character in the original Labyrinth film and most of its spin-off media.
Interestingly, his name is never actually mentioned in Everywhere's The Thing!.
