In one futuristic universe, the holonet seemed to be a holographic successor to the Internet. Laura Drake, like multiple other physics engineering students at the Neptunian Orbital University, had a holonet portfolio, and it was on its evidence that Jenny Everywhere came to her for help when she first began realising she had shifting powers.
