Creation of the Multiverse
The purported creation of the Multiverse was an event whose sheer existence was “hotly debated”, with some holding that the Multiverse had no beginning and had always existed. (PROSE: The Ghosts and the Machine)
According to one account, there originally existed a proto-multiverse, a “seething soup of quarks” which existed a the "beginning and end of everything" and was fought over by the Destroyer and the Defender. Before the Defender banished it into the Void, the Destroyer managed to damage the "pattern of everything" to such an extent that no Big Bang could take place, leaving the proto-multiverse “stillborn”. This forced the Defender to sacrifice herself for the Multiverse, as she splintered herself into an infinity of more limited beings to fill the gaps. (PROSE: Where Is Everywhere)
The Hidden Academics of the Tower of Yqwsl once speculated that Halloween was so widespread across the Multiverse because “some unwary dimensional traveler accidentally warped back to the creation of the Multiverse itself (…) and dropped a pumpkin, or perhaps a ghost, thus sparking the whole thing”.
