In the universe where Jenny Everywhere and Kim were roommates, one of their neighbours was Thoth, a talking cat. He lived with a wizard called Steven Lucas, but frequently claimed that he was the primary tenant and Steven was his familiar, rather than the other way around. Kim doubted this, noting that cats were often known for being liars. (PROSE: Fragment: Fanfic Critique, Morning After) Another one of Jenny and Kim's neighbours, Professor Awesome, created a robot cat at the age of nine, one of his earliest displays of precocious engineering genius. In one futuristic universe, Altern SmartPets included artificial cats. One such SmartCat was later reprogrammed to act as a librarian at the Neptunian Orbital University, and was encountered by the local Jenny Everywhere and Laura Drake during their first adventure together.
