Amour-159 was a Mark II Clockwork Cherub of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids. He was a Collector Cupid, collecting unpaid taxes for the Tax Department. A thankless job at the best of times, it became even more hazardous after the idea of using physical violence against enemies began to be more widespread among the Crew following the 1986 Skirmish at the Vanityville Supermarket. It got to such a level that Amour had a special note added to the Cupid Fact File on the Green Gorillas, explicitly pointing out that its endorsement of the use of force against the Gorillas did not apply to fellow Cupids, even ones that one might find oneself at odds with.
