In one universe, events highly comparable to the folktale of the Emperor's New Clothes occurred in a medieval-looking country visited on many occasions by Sven Allestädes, (COMIC: Enchanted, 24 Hour Comic 2019) and to which Jenny Anywhere once referred as the “Land of the Naked Emperor”.
After the Emperor's humiliation caused him to spiral into warmongering tyranny, a peasant revolt broke out. The Council of Lords, under the leadership of Baron Tarquin, overthrew the Emperor for being too “weak” to control the population, and instituted an even more dictatorial rule with the aid of Dragon-riding Argothian mercenaries. However, the Princess, Greta Överallt, had been trained as a shifter by Sven Allestädes, allowing her to flee when her father began to be dangerous.
Returning to the land to find Tarquin in charge, she got the drop on him and imprisoned him in the Shelterville prison. His abrupt disappearance was the opening the rebels needed for a push into the Imperial Castle, and they managed to finally overthrow the Empire. Meanwhile, Greta recovered her father from Tarquin's dungeons and exiled him to Shelterville, where, regretting his past pride and foolishness, he began to build a new life, eventually becoming the city's Justice of the Peace. She handed Tarquin back over to the newly-formed revolutionary government, intending to judge their wisdom by their treatment of him. (COMIC: 24 Hour Comic 2019)
