Hawk Manor and its denizens predated Our Strange and Wonderful House, originating in Elsha Hawk's writings on the real-world Ficlets website, referenced within Our Strange and Wonderful House as a nod to these origins. The Ficlinomicon was, naturally, named in reference to the Necronomicon.
