Biography
Visited by Acquaintanceship
One universe's version of the Wizard was a little man wearing a green top-hat. Indeed, he was also known as “the Little Wizard”. He remained a part of Ozma's circle, and known as “the Wizard”, even after he lost his political power over Oz, and began learning real magic. Indeed, Ozma was with the Wizard when he used magic to transform the Imps Olite, Udent and Ertinent into three metal buttons. He also owned nine tiny piglets.
“Many years” later, the enchantment faded, and the Imps, returning to their true forms, escaped. They found their old master, the witch Blinkie, who had lost her powers, and, on her orders, stole Dorothy Gale's Magic Belt. To avoid discovery, Blinkie used the power of the Belt to make Ozma and the Wizard forget the imps had ever existed (though the enchantment was partially blocked by Glinda), while the Imps returned to the Palace to steal Ozma's Magic Picture and disassemble the Red Wagon, also stealing Glinda's Great Book of Records. Unsure what to do, Ozma convened a great number of her friends and acquaintances to a room on the first floor the Palace to discuss the situation, including the Wizard and his piglets, Dorothy, Toto, Tik-Tok, General Omby Amby, Jellia Jamb, the Glass Cat, Trot, the Sawhorse, the Shaggy Man, the Gump, Flipper, Eureka, the Scarecrow, the Lonesome Duck, Cap'n Bill, Jack Pumpkin Head, the Hungry Tiger, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodman, Billina, Ojo, the Woozy, the Woggle-Bug. Also brought to the meeting by mistake was Acquaintanceship-982, who had been mistaken for Tik-Tok by General Amby. The group decided to use Acquaintanceship-982's Fog Ship to quickly comb through the Land.
They first landed in Munchkin Country, where the possé met the Phonograph of Oz, who had spotted the imps. Thanks to the Phonograph's directions, Acquaintanceship knew to fly towards Winkie Country, but on the way through the forest which separated the two Countries, they were attacked by three kalidahs. After evading them, they reached the mountains of Jinxland, where they found not only the imps, but also Blinkie. Gloating, the Wicked Witch unveiled a field full of hundreds of imp statues, which she intended to bring to life as an unstoppable army using the Powder of Life. Acquaintanceship attempted to romanticise Blinkie right there and then, but his shot missed and instead knocked the bottle Powder out of her hands. Taking his chance, Acquaintanceship grabbed the bottle and ran off with it into his Fog Ship, but Blinkie (who had yet to realise he had the Powder and thought he was just escaping) used the Belt to cause him to crash into the forest, and transformed most of the Ozites into various objects, with only Dorothy managing to escape.
Acquaintanceship was unharmed, however, although his Ship was down. Out of other options, he used some of the Powder of Life to attempt to repair his Ship, with the effect of bringing it to life as a sentient entity. Startled, he dropped the rest of the Powder onto his bow and arrows, which similarly came to life. Together, they returned to Jinxland and managed to romanticise Blinkie and the Imps, who subsequently apologised to everyone and returned the magical items. However, the Ship's inexperience with flying itself caused it to crash again with Acquaintanceship itself, injuring him this time. With the Bow and Arrows finding them, however, the Imps worked with Tik-Tok to repair both of them. Healed, Acquaintanceship was offered the chance to stay in the Emerald Palace as a permanent resident but turned it down, unlike the Ship, Bow and Arrows. The Wizard clapped Acquaintanceship on the back and thanked him again when Acquaintanceship thanked Ozma for the offer anyway. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids in Oz)
Saving Interdimensional Pride
Early on in his life in Oz, Diggs went power-bad. He absconded with the baby Ozma, who was the heir to the throne, and sold her to the witch Mombi, setting himself up as the absolute ruler of Oz from the Emerald Palace in the centre of the Land. Eventually, Ozma was restored to the throne. He apologised to her, and, to his mild surprise, she forgave him for his earlier actions. Subsequently, he stayed in Oz and retired to an estate reminiscent of the Emerald Palace.
In June 2022, he lent the estate to the Interdimensional Pride Council before going on holiday to the Land of Mo. As he left, he accidentally took the Man in Grey's suitcase instead of his own. When he opened it, having already set himself up on a beach in Mo, he discovered the documents describing the Man in Grey's reprehensible dealings with unethical sponsors such as DollarGraveClub, the Super Besties Justice Squad, Dibbsy and Kablamazon. He hurriedly returned to Oz to warn Ozma, who quickly put an end to the Man in Grey's schemes. (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events)
