The Euclidean Plane was a dimension known to the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids, inhabited by living geometrical shapes of various types and levels of intelligence.

Description

The Euclidean Plane's terrains included forests, jungles, (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane) swamplands, mountainous regions such as the Triangle Mountains where sphere-slides were a concern, (PROSE: The Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane) as well as the populated areas around the Pentagon. Geometron buildings were built as “perfect regular shapes”, including rectangles, spheres, triangles, and cubes. (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane) The stars in the night sky were “large, cartoony-looking five-pointed things hovering an indeterminate distance above the ground”, and raindrops were hard, large drop-like shapes rather than actual drops of liquid water, pockmarking the ground instead of making it wet. (PROSE: The Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane)

The Euclidean Plane was inhabited by a civilisation of sentient two-dimensional shapes, the Geometrons, (PROSE: Multiversal Mischief) who existed in multiple forms. (VIDEO: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids) The Euclidean Plane's version of Jenny was a Spheroid Geometron. (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker) There also existed multiple, similarly geometry-based animals including the dot-like Dats, the straight Lineas and the curved Ambagesques. (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane) Vegetation included “low, irregularly-triangular plants” and the taller geometrees. (PROSE: The Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane)

History

The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids discovered the Euclidean Plane by chance when a group of Cupids pressed the “random destination” button of their Fog Ship. (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane)

As early as 1984, the Crew were conducting regular raids into the Euclidean Plane, including breaking into the seat of their government, the Pentagon. (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker)

Eventually, by the time the Mark VIIIs were rolled out, the Euclidean Plane was well-mapped enough that newly-minted Cupids were sent there for their first missions, to ease them into fieldwork. One such member of the Crew, Tracker-764, was sent to the Plane with Companionship-790 but refused to leave with him, obsessed with the idea of becoming the first Cupid to romanticise a Pulsaton. (PROSE: The Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane) He became known as the “Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane” for his years-long hunt for the elusive Geometron, nicknamed “Doki Dick”. (PROSE: The Mad Cupid of the Euclidean Plane, Rifts Crisis Officially Over!)

At some point, the Crew attempted to film an infomercial about what they did, centred on the live romanticisation of two Geometrons, Mr Rectangle and Ms Bubble. It was not a complete success, as they overdosed the Love Potion, causing the two to become incoherent and non-verbal with euphoria, and thus unable to give a review of their “experience” for the cameras, positive or otherwise. When the Copper-Colored Council of Elders put up the Cupid Suggestion Box, Edwin-750 was one of the very few Cupids to put in an actually reasonable request, which ended up being approved: the official sanctioning of a research mission to the Euclidean Plane to investigate recent reports of an alleged sixth type of Geometron, the crescent-like Lunaeoids. (PROSE: The Cupid Suggestion Box)

During the Rifts Crisis, a Rift appeared inside a ravine of the Euclidean Plane. After Doki Dick fled through it from Tracker-764, Tracker followed him through, leaving the Euclidean Plane at last. The Rift took him to an unstable “hub” dimension full of other Rifts connecting to various worlds, and he ended up helping to prevent a catastrophic complete dimensional collapse that would have destroyed the Euclidean Plane as well as all the other worlds connected to the hub dimension.
