The New Mission was Laura Seabrook's contribution to Jenny Everywhere Day 2016. It comprised a narrative prose blurb and a single full-colour illustration. Alongside Jenny Everywhere, it featured Octobriana and Neeta (two other open-source characters also used by Seabrook in her Return to Second Life 3D comics) and the public domain Golden Age superhero Miss Victory.

Plot
During World War II, a mysterious planet (codenamed Doppleganger) enters the solar system, having drifted from deep space. To the surprise of astronomers, scans show that the continents and oceans of Doppleganger matched those of Earth closely. The U.S. Space Force, in a project overseen by the mechanic Neeta, sends a recon mission to find out if there is any intelligent life there, and if so, how it might change the tide of the war. Part of the mission are Octobriana (representing the Soviet Union), Miss Victory (“fresh from smashing nazi spy rings” and representing the United States themselves), and, of course, Jenny Everywhere.

Other
- It is feared that Nazi Germany may seek to settle Doppleganger first.
