Dibbsy, (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events) formally the Wilt Dibbsy Corporation, (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?) were a media conglomerate from the 925th Universe with a “long history of making money”. Its mascot was Mammon Mouse.
History
Dibbsy was founded by Wilt Dibbsy, whose head was later severed, frozen and preserved. (PROSE: Annals of the Jen: One Year of Jenny Over-There)
It was considered “pretty much the thing, but for animated movies” as what Kyujudo was to video games, Kyujudo having just been described in that account as “a video game corporation which prided itself in a carefully-cultivated family-friendly image, whilst being absolutely cutthroat with their lawyers”. (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?)
Dibbsy had a history of including homeopathic amounts of queer content in movies only to tout them as featuring their “first gay character”, time and again. Dibbsy movies slotting in this trend included Beauty and the Beast (featuring a subtextual gay character in the form of Henribald), Super Besties: Assemble (which was sponsored by the real Super Besties Justice Squad and introduced the character of General Loki, later vaguely implied to be queer), an animated adaption of War of the Worlds featuring a 0.5-second-long background sapphic kiss, and Mulan. The latter was, to apparent audience disappointment, not included in Dibbsy's box set of “First Gays”, featuring “all the movies we made with first gay characters, gay kisses, gay subtexts, and a rainbow pin of Mammon Mouse”, released for Pride Month in 2022. That same year, Dibbsy was also pursued by the Man in Grey as a sponsor for the Interdimensional Pride Parade. However, this quickly fell through after the Man was dismissed from the Council. (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events)
On Christmas Eve 2022, various noteworthy individuals clashed at the Dibbsy Store over various collectibles, many of which involved the image of the Mouse. The Beastmaster charged in with a wild bear to get his hands on a Mammon Mouse plush, while Dynamite Thor expended much effort to get his hands on the Dibbsy Toaster, an exclusive item which “burned your toast in the shape of Mammon Mouse's silhouette”. After the store was lit on fire in the commotion, the big Mammon Mouse silhouette looming over the building also caught fire. Other individuals present at the scuffle, which was reported on television, included Bart Hill, out of costume, who looted a copy of the “First Gays” box set, as well as Jenny Everywhere, Jenny Nowhere, Jenny Somewhere, Laura Drake and Alias the Dragon. (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas)
In 2023, Dibbsy partnered with Kyujudo to create a Super Benito Siblings movie, a “match made in Lawyer Hell” which led to “posters of Mammon Mouse and Dollar Duck dressed up as Benito and his brother Giovanni”. When the Man in Grey and Jenny Over-There summoned the Legalmen Collective to deal with a Null-entity who had manifested as a copy of the Super Benito villain Bonham, they declared themselves to be acting on behalf of “Kyujudo Company Ltd., Kyujudo of Europe, and The Wilt Dibbsy Corporation”. (PROSE: Who Laws the Lawyers?)
Behind the scenes
Dibbsy is an obvious satire of Disney. It is noteworthy, however, that the Super Benito Siblings movie described in Who Laws the Lawyers? is a parody of the 2023 animated feature The Super Mario Brothers Movie, which was produced by the animation studio Illusion and distributed by Universal, not by Disney or any of its subsidiaries.
On January 18th, 2023, on the Jenny Everywhere Discord, Callum Phillpott officially declared Dibbsy and related concepts such as Mammon Mouse to be open-source, despite not having originally intended as much when Dibbsy was first introduced.
