The Labyrinth was an ancient, supernatural structure ruled by the Goblin King Jareth in one universe. It was full of adventure and populated with many goblin-creatures, such as the Fireys, who only bore partial allegiance to the King.
An incarnation of Jenny once shifted directly into the Labyrinth, which was not possible for ordinary humans, who had to be invited there by Jareth. Detecting her presence at once, Jareth flew to her location and greeted her. When she explained, to his surprise, that she had no other purpose in coming here than seeking a good old-fashioned adventure, he officially granted her thirteen hours of playtime in the Labyrinth, provided that she didn't break anything, and that she understood that having his blessing did not necessarily mean she was safe from the residents. (PROSE: Everywhere's The Thing!)
Behind the scenes
The Labyrinth is the setting of the 1986 fantasy film of the same name, with which Everywhere's The Thing! was a crossover fanfiction.
