The Magic Picture was a magical picture owned by many universes' versions of the Land of Oz's ruler, Ozma. It was enchanted to show any scene its owner asked to see, allowing them to spy on any goings-on in the world.
In at least one universe, it looked somewhat unremarkable to those who did not know of its wondrous power. When they stole the Magic Belt from the Emerald Palace, the imps Olite, Udent and Ertinent were instructed by Blinkie to also steal the Picture (as well as Glinda's Great Book of Records) so that the Ozite authorities would not learn of their return. They later returned all the stolen artefacts after being romanticised and having a subsequent magically-triggered change of heart. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids)
Behind the scenes
Having debuted in 1907's Ozma of Oz, the Magic Picture is in the public domain.
