Viltus (The Time of the Toymaker)

Viltus was Barnabus Raffleby's predecessor as Chamberlain to the Dark Lord of Shenanig, having retired to leave the oposition to Raffleby thirty-six years before Sebastian Steer's takeover. Having served during “a particularly tumultuous time in the planet’s political history”, Viltus lived through no less than twenty-two regime changes over the course of his career, although most of them were back and forth between two persistent claimants to the throne, rather than a case of twenty-two distinct Dark Lords. He then spent his retirement “droning on” about his efforts to keep up with the ever-changing palace etiquette this involved. By December of 2020, he was long since deceased.
