Red Weed

Red Weed was an invasive plant species native to the Wellsians' home planet. It could naturally reach heights measured in metres, and Sellane ag-Narra, a Wellsian botanist, engineered some to be even higher.

Red Weed was bioluminescent and was involved in the traditional Wellsian Allac-Ur celebrations, which involved gathering around a particularly tall stalk as it reached peak bioluminescence in the night and singing songs — all of which was followed by an exchange of gifts.
