Lord Nefarious

Lord Nefarious was the Dark Lord of Shenanig, in the Jynx Dimension. His chamberlain Raffleby thought of him as a friend and as “a good ruler”, if not necessarily “a good man”.

Nefarious ruled for at least thirty-six years, until he met Conquest-932, an exiled Clockwork Cherub, who persuaded the Dark Lord to follow him back to his Homeworld alongside Nefarious's personal barrister, Sebastian Steer. There, under circumstances which remained murky to Raffleby, Nefarious was killed and Steer somehow acquired all his powers, principally through his staff. Steer returned to Shenanig and proclaimed himself the new Dark Lord as well as the Emperor of the entire planet.

Steer broke with Dark Lord tradition in numerous ways, including the replacement of the Dark Citadel with a new Imperial Castle. Its throne room was decorated with bronze busts of Steer's predecessors, including Nefarious, at whose statue the still resentful Steer often chucked tomatoes in petty, posthumous vengeance for his grudge at having had to obey and be obsequious towards Nefarious when he was only his lawyer.
