Conceptual engine

(Redirected from Conceptual Engine)

Conceptual engines, (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids) also rendered as Conceptual Engines (PROSE: Father Christmas) or conceptual drives, were key components of the Fog Ships, the Void Ships used by the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids)

Nature

As well as being involved in the basic function of the Fog Ships, the Conceptual Engines served to safeguard the Cupid Homeworld against metaphysical attack; when a Copper-Colored Cupid returned home in a Fog Ship, their Conceptual Engine would automatically purge their biodata of any suspect alter-dimensional influence, restoring the Cupid's “factory settings” at the ontological level. This was a redundancy for the blunter effects of the Homeworld's conceptual shields. (PROSE: Father Christmas)

History

The designs for the conceptual drive were among those left behind by the Creator to her creations before she withdrew from public life. Cupid scientists then used them as well as her plans for dematerialisation circuits to develop the Fog Ships. (PROSE: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids)

Juliet believed that the only components absolutely necessary to a Fog Ship's function were “the engine”, the dematerialisation circuit, and the steering wheel. (PROSE: The Labors of Juliet)
