Arc Mechanics

Arc Mechanics was a Gotham-based tech company in one universe. They often worked with the police department, and had already accrued a lot of bad press by the time a scientist in its employ attempted to sell two boardmembers onto her new invention, the Naveliser, a visibly unethical interrogation and power-duplication device. Though one investor was interested, the other representative, the actual CEO of Arc Mechanics, strongly opposed the project. This led to the spiteful scientist capturing the CEO a short while later and using the device on her, scaring embarrassing private information out of her and then using it to blackmail her into backing further development of the Navelisers after all.
