The 775th Universe's incarnation of Jenny Everywhere, often simply “Jenny”, got her interdimensional powers as a result of an accident involving Laura Drake's Triangular Bisector. Both lived on the island of Mystepolia.
Description
Physical appearance
Like the other humans of this universe, she had four fingers on each hand. She appeared as a young, short, fairly skinny black woman with large, round ears. She wore goggles on her forehead with a large purple strap and brass frames. She usually wore a dark, sleeveless T-shirt and dark jeans, and had a tendency to go barefoot even in situations where this wasn't socially acceptable.
However, she was capable of dressing up if necessary, owning a blue jacket and a bowtie which seemed to change colours between red and blue. After she got her powers in circumstances which burnt out her bowtie and left its remains hanging from her neck like a scarf for her first adventure, she seemed to adopt the wearing of a genuine, striped blue scarf. Personality
This Jenny was adventurous and eccentric. She was quiet and prone to letting her mind wander. She was passionately and desperately in love with Laura Drake, instantly panicking at the merest suggestion that Laura might be upset at her, though this didn't entirely cloud her judgment about Laura, with her choosing to hide her powers from her for fear of Laura coming to view her as more of a test subject than a person. (COMIC: The Demon and the Butterfly)
Powers & abilities
This Jenny didn't possess any shifting powers until she was infused with dimensional energy by the Triangular Bisector. However, thereafter, she immediately exhibited great instinctive control of her abilities, summoning objects with ease, from a simple rose to a large mass of water. As a side-effect, her shadow sometimes altered itself to resemble a butterfly, though she didn't understand why, nor the logic by which it came and went. (COMIC: The Demon and the Butterfly)
Biography
Early life
Around the age of sixteen, Jenny was dabbling in urban exploration. She eventually found her way to Drake Manor, mistakenly believing it to be abandoned, and, climbing in through a window, found herself face-to-face with Laura Drake for the first time. Laura, who'd been just about to go to bed, later described the scene as “very Peter Pan”. The two became fast friends following this incident, although it would be some time yet before they started dating. (COMIC: The Demon and the Butterfly: Special Q&A)
Getting her powers
As the endpoint of five years of research, Laura Drake, who was now dating Jenny, eventually completed the Triangular Bisector. It was intended to open a small portal to the heart of an alien sun in another dimension and safely funnel powers from it. It wasn't designed to allow physical beings to travel between the dimensions. However, when Laura organised an official demo at the Museum, Lord Grallyx, a demonic being who had been imprisoned in the heart of the star Laura had selected, pushed his way through, damaging the Bisector in the process. Jenny quickly climbed onto the stage, helping to steady Laura, who was spiraling into irrational guilt. After calming her down, Jenny tried to use the Bisector again to summon the Disciples of Golden Light so they could trap Grallyx again, but it backfired and she received a blast of shifter energy which briefly knocked her out. However, she quickly woke up, newly-infused with the energy, which allowed her to start shifting objects from other universes into her grasp.
Jenny and Laura chased after Grallyx in Laura's Bubblecopter, whereupon they got Grallyx's attention and Jenny used a great discharge of shifter energy to summon a huge amount of water atop Grallyx, which doused him and extinguished his fire, leaving only a small and very confused lizard. Some time later, they went over the event back in Laura's room, with Laura explaining that the news coverage of the incident had actually gotten her more investors to further develop her invention, and also pointing out that they had received thanks from the soldier whom Grallyx had been about to kill when Laura and Jenny swept in. Jenny continued to claim to Laura that her powers had completely faded after the large discharge of energy she used to defeat Grallyx, which was secretly not the case. Later, when Laura started getting messages on the Interdimensional Ham Radio from “interdimensional busybodies”, she talked Jenny into agreeing to answer any questions that were directed to her. The first was a question about someone called “Jenny Nowhere”, which merely confused Jenny. She also answered a question from someone who inquired about the way her shadow seemed to sometimes transform into a butterfly's silhouette; she confessed that she wasn't sure what was going on, but was reluctant to tell Laura about it, not wanting to be viewed as a test subject.
