An incarnation of Jimmy Anytime existed in the 38167th Universe. He was initially created by Jenny Nowhere as a clone of the local Jimmy Wherever as part of a plot to kill Jenny Everywhere.

Description

Physical appearance

Jimmy Wherever looked identical to the original Jimmy Wherever, a broad-shouldered white man with naturally dark brown hair and gray-blue eyes. However, wanting to assert his own identity, he took to dyeing his hair platinum-blond. He typically wore a dark gray T-shirt and a matching pair of jeans. (PROSE: Family Business)

Personality

Jimmy Anytime was eager to assert his own identity separate from his template or his intended purpose as an assassin. He was bisexual, and harboured an ongoing, unreciprocated romantic interest for Jenny Everywhere. He was keen to play the hero, but had a sometimes childish notion of what that entailed. (PROSE: Family Business)

Powers & abilities

Jimmy Anytime was imbued with “time-shifting” powers by Nowhere, hence his name. They allowed him to shift himself through time as well as universes, but also, with practice, to locally accelerate or slow time for specific objects or areas, something he was taught to do by Lord Thymon.

He was engineered with a superhuman constitution which allowed him to fall great heights, and go long periods of time without eating or drinking, without serious injury. However, as concerned the latter, prolonged starvation was still painful even if it wouldn't seriously harm him. (PROSE: Family Business)

Biography

Jenny Everywhere once dated “a guy named Jimmy Wherever for “a couple of weeks”. However, Jenny Nowhere, hungry for vengeance, kidnapped him and grew a clone of him with time-shifting powers — Jimmy Anytime. She hypnotised Anytime to believe he was the real Jimmy, then sent him back in time to before the start of Everywhere's relationship with Wherever, whom the clone murdered and replaced. Eventually, as Everywhere and Jimmy had tracked Nowhere down to her current lair in “an abandoned canned tuna factory at the edge of town”, Nowhere switched off the hypnotic conditioning and ordered Anytime to kill Everywhere.

However, Anytime had developed real (if unreciprocated) feelings for Everywhere over those weeks, which remained even after the hypnosis fell away. Refusing to turn on her, he instead punched Nowhere, causing her to fall into a fishbone-grinder. Anytime subsequently believed that he had killed her, although Everywhere knew better. She let Jimmy down gently with regards to the possibility of a continued relationship, and remained friends with him despite the awkwardness of their situation. Anytime, eager to create his own identity, started bleaching his hair and dyeing it platinum-blond.

As part of her plot to abduct Sophie Everytime, Nowhere later intercepted Jimmy mid-time-shift and dropped him into the Black Sea that surrounded Nowhere Island. Swimming to shore, he wandered into the forest until Nowhere caused a pit to open beneath his feet. He stayed there for a period of time that a non-augmented human wouldn't have survived, until he was found by Jenny Everywhere and Lord Thymon, whose quest to get to the centre of the island and rescue Sophie he then joined, learning from Thymon on the way despite Thymon's initial distaste for his amateurish abilities as a time-shifter.

After being joined by Laura Drake and Jenny Over-There, the group reached the Castle of Nowhere, where they were promptly taken prisoner by Nowhere, who went over her history with Laura and Jenny for Over-There and Thymon's benefit before explaining that this whole scheme was her grand revenge for what Laura and Jenny had done to her. Having adapted the Dimensional Consciousness Maximizer into a new device, she intended to turn Sophie into an incarnation of Jenny Nowhere by force. She then activated the machine, but it did not work as expected due to Sophie's self-confidence, bolstered by her parents' love throughout the day, far exceeding Nowhere's angst-ridden willpower. While Nowhere's mind took over Sophie's body, Sophie's own mind, instead of being erased, took possession of Nowhere's vacant one.

Breaking down crying due to the combination of her failure and of this new body's immature brain chemistry, Nowhere-in-Sophie's-body agreed to switch back after Sophie volunteered the knowledge her original name back to her (having, in her past but the relative future, been told by Jenny and Thymon, who remembered these events, to travel back in meta-time to find it out). She took off, gruffly admitting that Everywhere had “won this one”. Having realised that the whole of Nowhere Island emitted a shift-cancelling aura on its own due to being itself an incarnation of Nowhere, the group rowed out to sea from the Island to get out of the shift-cancelling era, and Jenny Everywhere then shifted everyone back home.
