Superman, also called Kal-el, (PROSE: Our Strange and Wonderful House: The Jenny Everywhere Museum (cont'd)) was a superhero who existed as a fictional character in multiple universes.

History

Overview

Archetypally, his origin story involved his father, a scientist, shooting him into space in a space pod when he was a baby so that he could survive the imminent destruction of their home planet, Krypton. The baby then landed on Earth in Kansas, where he was adopted by a kindly family called the Kents. (PROSE: Morning After)

A version of Superman was one of the guests from across the Multiverse brought to the grand opening of the Oasis Springs Nudist Resort by Jenny Everywhere and Jenny Anywhere. He was seen relaxing in the pool not far from Storm. (VIDEO: Grand Opening)

Flying with Jenny

See main article: Superman (Jenny Everywhere and Superman)

A version of Superman apparently existed in one universe alongside Jenny Everywhere. She once ran into him while on the roof of a building, and, excited, ran along after the flying superhero, with Superman noticing before she did that she seemed to be headed for the edge of the building. As fiction

A comic with “some guy bashing a car” was published in 1938 in one universe. Mr King's newsstand in Chicago received this comic at the same time as a Jenny Everywhere comic. Although King noted that the one about the “guy” “could be a winner”, he seemed more invested in promoting the Jenny comic. (COMIC: Miss Adventure)

In the Parallax Universe

In another universe, Jenny and her neighbour David were both familiar with the story of Superman. They discussed the similarity when, due to shifter hangover, Jenny got glimpses of memories of an origin story for herself that sounded suspiciously similar. (PROSE: Morning After)

Behind the scenes

The Superman cover alluded to in COMIC: Miss Adventure.

The “guy” mentioned in Miss Adventure is self-evidently Superman, with the comic being none other than the iconic Action Comics #1, although this is not explicit.

Criterion was described by his creator Johann-Octavius Gans as a “Superman/Hyperion expy”.
