Right-On By The Sea was a South Coast city in one universe. It was located an hour's train ride away from London. (COMIC: Damn Fine Hostile Takeover)

Description

With its most notable feature a pier covered in ordinary tourist attractions, Right-On By The Sea was described as "sleepy" and "a peaceful place". Its inhabitants were known for usually getting along, with the local Jenny Everywhere being one of the only exceptions alongside her "gang" of friends, Clea, Lex and Bradley.

Local places of interest included the beach and its pier with amusement rides. It had at least one “in” night-club, Club Twart. (COMIC: Name's Not Down) The indie coffee shop Cuppa Cha Cha Cha was popular with Jenny and her friends, and there was a train station connecting the town to the rest of England. (COMIC: Damn Fine Hostile Takeover)

This “seaside town” was one of Jenny Everywhere's oldest haunts across her infinite, fractured lifetimes, and she had nostalgic fondness for it in many incarnations. The respective Jennies Everywhere of Laura Drake of one universe and the Jenny Anywhere of another both took their friend to this place and world before any other when they first revealed their ability to shift to her. (PROSE: The Disappearance of Jenny Everywhere)

However, a different Jenny had only subconscious knowledge of the seaside city when she was sent there by Cha Ni to help prevent a disastrous fire. She did her best to stay beneath the notice of the locals and especially of the local Jenny's friends, believing that due to the low level of supernatural activity of the place, the sight of several Jennies at once would only serve to raise inconvenient questions from onlookers, creating trouble for her local self. (PROSE: Paying It Forward)

Behind the scenes

The city of Right-On By The Sea is a thinly disguised Brighton, as readers might guess from the name. Since artist Nelson Evergreen was living in Brighton at the time, he had every opportunity to draw the city as he saw it.

In Name's Not Down, we see in the very first panel of the very first Jenny Everywhere comic an aerial view of a seashore with a fun pier (as seen at the top of this page). In our world this is known as Palace Pier, a landmark of the city and popular tourist attraction.

Damn Fine Hostile Takeover opens on the beach and the stairs and arches seen at the bottom of page three match Brighton styles, particularly the stairs near Brighton Music Hall (700 meters west of the pier). Also, if one looks closely at the record on page two, the fourth-wall breaking label notes that it was "Recorded in London and Brighton, England."

Most obvious is the train station at the end of the story, which on page 19 is seen clearly from a viewpoint near the junction of Terminus Road and Howard Place. The interior view is also consistent with the building in our reality.

On page 20 we see the crew emerging into the rain, coming out from the entrances at Terminus Road and Trafalger Street. Jenny and Clea are last seen in frame three, rounding the corner to walk east and go through the Trafalger Road underpass; they are being watched from across the street by Jenny Nowhere. The story ends with a full height panel of Nowhere, with a moderately inaccurate view up Guildford Lane in the background.
