Chocobos, or chocobos, were pack animals known to Jenny Everywhere by the time of her travels in the Makara Isles in one universe; her local travelling companion Amuro Ray also owned a Chocobo whistle, suggesting Chocobos may indeed have existed in the Makara Isles. However, when writing that her adventuring party had hired pack animals known as Locobos, Jenny emphasised that the creatures were distinct from Chocobos, even though Amuro's whistle turned out to also work on them. (PROSE: Jenny Everywhere's Twitter)
Behind the scenes
Chocobos are large land birds from the Final Fantasy series, used as mounts and pack animals. Locobos evidently fulfill a similar role, but whether they otherwise resemble their copyrighted near-namesakes is unclear in the text of Jenny Everywhere's Twitter; Jenny's guess that “Amuro's Chocobo whistle works on any -ocobos” may be read as implying otherwise, as the joke seems to be that there is no other logical reason a Chocobo whistle should prima facie work on a Locobo, save that they have similar names.
